Send us your compliance checklist ↗

FDA · Food-contact requirements

United States

Build your brief around the materials, food-contact surfaces and intended use. We can work with your requirements to select the product construction and arrange the relevant testing and documentation. Include California or retailer-specific requirements when they apply.

EU food contact · LFGB

Europe & Germany

Tell us where your range will be sold. We can adapt materials, finishes and components around the applicable EU food-contact requirements and German-market testing needs, including LFGB-related assessments. The test scope follows the actual product and its use.

Destination-specific requirements

Great Britain, Canada & Australia

Send your importer’s or retailer’s checklist with the product brief. We will work through the material, testing, labelling and documentation requirements with you before the specification is approved. Identify the exact destination, including Northern Ireland where relevant.

The right evidence for the right product.

Food-contact requirements depend on materials and use. For Europe, this includes the EC 1935/2004 framework, GMP under EC 2023/2006 and material-specific measures such as EU 10/2011 for applicable plastics. A report should identify the configuration and conditions it covers.

DETAILED GUIDES

Quality, documents and destination rules.

Each page sets out the checks, documents and official guidance for one part of your compliance brief.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST ENQUIRY

A few useful answers.

Already have a specification?
We can start there.

Can you manufacture to our compliance requirements?

Yes. Share the destination market, product specification and any retailer or importer requirements. We can customise the materials, components and finish, then agree the testing and documentation needed for the selected configuration.

Can we request FDA or LFGB testing?

Yes. Include that requirement in your enquiry. We will review the product materials and intended use with you so the assessment covers the right components and conditions. Reports relate to the tested product and scope; requirements should be agreed before production.

What about ISO 9001 and factory audits?

Include ISO 9001 or a retailer audit requirement in your supplier brief. We can review the required factory documentation and its scope with you. Management-system certificates and social audits cover the factory or organisation; product test reports cover the selected product.

Can our inspection company check the order?

Tell us your preferred inspection arrangement before production. We can agree the inspection stage, approved reference sample, checklist, sampling plan and reporting requirements as part of your order.

What should we send to get started?

Send a product link, drawing or reference sample, quantity, destination market and required standard or test checklist. If you are still developing the specification, tell us what the product needs to do and which requirements are fixed.
